The Commission on the Status of Women (1946), or CSW, is the main international organ that is dedicated exclusively to the search for gender equality and the empowerment of women in society;  this committee's goal is to promote women's rights by exposing and documenting the injustices that many women all over the world live with every day.

In order to achieve this goal, the CSW has had to create a great number of laws and multiple international statutes that to this day and age, are still valid.
